YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 01
How vascular laser treatment works
Vascular lasers target haemoglobin in blood within small vessels. The absorbed energy heats the vessel, with the aim of making it less visible. The Retreat’s published page identifies Cynosure Elite+ for its vascular treatments.
This is an assessment-led cosmetic treatment for appropriate visible vessels. It is not a general treatment for every type of redness, vein problem or circulation condition. Results vary and more than one session may be discussed.
YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 02
Facial thread veins and leg concerns
You can discuss visible thread veins on the face or legs. The original clinic page also mentions redness and rosacea-related concerns. These descriptions do not establish a diagnosis: the practitioner needs to assess the cause, vessel size, location and your skin.
Explain any pain, swelling, bleeding, previous vein treatment or medical diagnosis. Prominent, painful or changing leg veins may need medical assessment rather than a cosmetic appointment. Suitability for vascular treatment can differ from suitability for hair removal, even when the same laser platform is used.

Consultation, patch test and expectations
The clinic offers a free consultation and patch test before laser treatment. Agree the areas, likely improvement, number of appointments, review plan and cost. Ask whether another approach or referral would be more appropriate.
Protective eyewear is used during laser treatment. Pulses may sting and the area may need cooling. Tell the practitioner if anything feels unusually painful. The patch test and treatment discussion help you make an informed decision but cannot guarantee an uncomplicated result.

Before your appointment
Tell the clinic about medicines, supplements, recent sun exposure, fake tan and active skincare. The existing clinic guidance places particular emphasis on UV protection and allowing time for the skin to cool after the appointment.
Obtain current written instructions about skincare, alcohol, exercise, shaving and sun exposure. Do not follow an old webpage’s instruction to stop aspirin or another medicine without checking with your prescriber. Make sure the practitioner knows why you take any prescribed treatment.

Recovery and follow-up
Redness and swelling may occur; bruising or temporary changes in vessel appearance can also be discussed at consultation. The response depends on the laser, area and individual skin. Plan enough time before events and ask what recovery is expected for you.
Be gentle with the area and follow advice about cooling, washing, makeup, heat, exercise and sun protection. Do not pick at crusts or irritated skin. The clinic should tell you when to review progress; further vessels can appear over time, so treatment does not guarantee that the concern will never return.

Risks and concerns after treatment
Possible complications include burns, blisters, pigment changes, infection and scarring. Ask the practitioner to explain the risks for your skin and the area being treated, including any reason to postpone or avoid treatment.
Contact the clinic promptly if pain or redness is increasing, blisters develop or you are worried about healing. Seek medical care for severe symptoms or an urgent concern. Before-and-after photographs illustrate individual cases and should not be read as a promise of the same result.

GOOD QUESTIONS WELCOME
Before
your visit.
How is the price decided?
The published price guide lists a starting price per session, depending on the size of the area. Confirm the current cost with the clinic.
Can I book treatment straight away?
Start with a consultation and patch test. The clinic will explain suitability, possible side effects and the next steps before you decide.
Does this treat varicose veins?
Do not assume that a thread-vein laser appointment is suitable for varicose veins. Discuss symptoms with a medical professional and ask the clinic what it can assess.
Will redness always respond?
No. Redness has different causes. Assessment is needed to establish whether laser is appropriate and what improvement might be realistic.
Can veins come back?
Results are individual and new visible vessels may develop over time. Ask about follow-up and whether further appointments might be needed.
