Make a little space in your day for a facial tailored to your skin.

Treatment room at The Retreat Laser Clinic

A PERSONAL APPROACH

Let’s talk about
what’s right for you.

The clinic’s published treatment menu includes express and luxury facials using Alumier MD products. Discuss your skin and the kind of appointment you are looking for with the clinic.

At a glance

  • Express facial: listed as 30 minutes
  • Luxury facial: listed as 45 minutes
  • Alumier MD products

Discuss treatment suitability, expectations and any preparation with the clinic before booking.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 01

The facial options at The Retreat

The published clinic menu lists an express facial of 30 minutes and a luxury facial of 45 minutes, using AlumierMD products. Confirm the current menu and what is included when booking; an appointment length alone does not describe every stage of a treatment.

The original AlumierMD page features enzyme resurfacing and a refining clay mask. Product selection should follow a discussion about your skin and the kind of appointment you want. A product-based facial is different from the clinic’s laser facial and from a professional chemical peel.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 02

A facial built around your skin

Tell the practitioner whether your priority is comfort, hydration, cleansing or exploring a more consistent routine. Describe sensitivity, allergies, recent breakouts and products that have caused a reaction. You do not need to arrive knowing which facial to choose.

Mention prescription skincare, recent peels or laser procedures, sunburn, cold sores or broken skin before booking. Some treatments or ingredients may need to be adjusted or postponed. A cosmetic facial is not a substitute for diagnosing persistent irritation, acne or another skin condition.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 03

What happens during the appointment?

Begin by discussing your skin and agreeing what will be used. Ask whether the selected facial involves cleansing, exfoliation, a mask or finishing products, and whether any part is unsuitable for your current routine. The clinic can explain the express and luxury options.

Tell the practitioner immediately if you feel burning, pain or unexpected discomfort. Ask questions before a product is applied and let the practitioner know if you prefer to avoid an ingredient. The aim is an appointment you understand and feel comfortable with.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 04

Before your facial

Bring the names of your regular skincare products and any prescribed topical treatment. Mention other appointments planned close to the facial so the practitioner can consider the combined effect on your skin.

Ask whether to pause exfoliating products or retinoids before your chosen appointment and what to use afterwards. Follow individual instructions rather than stopping prescribed products on your own. If your skin becomes irritated or sunburnt before the visit, contact the clinic to check whether to rearrange.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 05

Aftercare and your home routine

Recovery depends on the products and steps used. Ask what temporary sensitivity or redness is expected and when to resume makeup, exfoliation or active ingredients. Avoid adding several new products at once immediately after the appointment.

Use the visit to discuss a simple homecare routine, including cleansing, moisturising and sun protection appropriate to you. Ask for product instructions and how to judge whether the routine suits your skin. Explore the AlumierMD page for the clinic’s existing collection and enquire about current availability.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 06

Benefits, limitations and reactions

A facial can be part of your skincare routine and a chance to receive personal product advice. It should not be sold as a guaranteed cure for acne, pigmentation or ageing. Ask what the selected appointment is intended to do and whether a different treatment or medical advice would be more appropriate.

Products can cause irritation or an allergic reaction, even if you have used similar ingredients before. Discuss known allergies and report an unexpected reaction. Contact the clinic for persistent or worsening symptoms, and seek urgent medical help for a severe allergic reaction.

GOOD QUESTIONS WELCOME

Before
your visit.

Which facial should I choose?

Ask the clinic about the difference between express and luxury appointments, and which option suits your needs.

Are these treatments currently available?

Contact the clinic to confirm the current facial menu, appointment lengths and prices before booking.

What is the difference between express and luxury?

The published menu lists different appointment lengths. Ask the clinic for the current treatment steps and what the additional time includes.

Can I book a facial and peel together?

Discuss this with the practitioner first. Products and exfoliation need to be planned together, and combining treatments is not automatically suitable.

Do I have to buy products afterwards?

Ask about any recommended homecare, its purpose and cost before deciding. You can enquire about the facial without committing to a product purchase.
