A PERSONAL APPROACH

Let’s talk about
what’s right for you.

Peels feature on the clinic’s published Alumier MD facial and peel menu. Your consultation is the opportunity to discuss your skin concerns, suitability and the treatment options currently available.

At a glance

  • Alumier MD treatment menu
  • Listed appointment length: 45 minutes
  • Individual suitability and aftercare discussion

Discuss treatment suitability, expectations and any preparation with the clinic before booking.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 01

What is a professional peel?

A chemical peel applies a selected exfoliating formulation to the skin. The choice of formulation, strength and application depends on the assessment and the intended treatment. Professional peels should not be confused with adding another everyday exfoliating product to your routine.

The clinic’s original AlumierMD page lists Glow Peel and personalised AlumierMD peels. Ask which options are currently offered and why one is recommended for you. A more intense sensation or more visible peeling is not, by itself, proof of a better result.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 02

Skin concerns and assessment

You can discuss uneven texture, tone, the appearance of fine lines or blemish-related concerns. The practitioner should assess your skin and expectations rather than select a peel from a concern alone. Different skin tones and histories of pigmentation need individual consideration.

Disclose allergies, skin conditions, recent tanning, cold sores, medicines and previous procedures. Let the clinic know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; AlumierMD advises against professional chemical peels in these circumstances. Ask about an alternative appointment rather than assuming the same treatment can go ahead.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 03

What to expect at the clinic

The published menu lists a 45-minute peel appointment; confirm the current length and what is included. Your practitioner explains the chosen treatment, likely sensations, recovery, risks and aftercare before obtaining your agreement.

Tingling or warmth may occur during application. Speak up if the sensation is uncomfortable or unusual. Ask whether a patch test is needed for your treatment and circumstances; the clinic’s laser patch-test process should not be assumed to apply identically to every peel.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 04

Preparing your skincare routine

Provide the names of your products, particularly retinoids and exfoliating acids, and details of recent laser, waxing or other cosmetic procedures. The practitioner can advise what to pause and how far in advance based on the selected peel.

Avoid making your own preparation plan by combining strong home exfoliation with a booked professional treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine without discussing it with your prescriber. Arrange the appointment around holidays and events, allowing for the recovery explained at consultation.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 05

Peeling, recovery and aftercare

Temporary redness, dryness, sensitivity or flaking may occur. Some superficial peels produce little visible flaking; others require more recovery. Ask about the likely course for the exact treatment, not simply for the brand name.

Follow the recommended gentle skincare and sun-protection plan. Do not pick or pull peeling skin, and avoid extra scrubs or active products until advised. Confirm when to restart usual products, wear makeup and return for a review. Ask whether any aftercare products are included or cost extra.

YOUR TREATMENT GUIDE / 06

Risks and realistic expectations

Peels can cause irritation, pigment changes or, less commonly, infection and scarring. The risk depends on the treatment and individual skin. A course may be discussed, but there is no guaranteed number of sessions or guaranteed cosmetic outcome.

Contact the clinic if you develop severe pain, blistering, worsening redness or an unexpected reaction. Get medical help for an urgent concern. A professional peel is an elective treatment; you should have time to understand the advice, alternatives and cost before deciding.

GOOD QUESTIONS WELCOME

Before
your visit.

Which peel is right for me?

The clinic will assess your skin and explain the options. Ask about preparation, possible side effects and recovery before booking.

Why does the price guide show a range?

The published menu lists a range for peels. Ask the clinic for the current price for the treatment recommended to you.

Will my skin definitely peel?

Not necessarily. Visible flaking varies with the formulation and your skin. Ask what is expected for the chosen treatment.

Can I use retinol before and after?

Tell the practitioner exactly which product you use. Obtain individual timing instructions; prescribed treatments also need the prescriber’s advice.

Is a peel suitable during pregnancy?

AlumierMD advises against professional chemical peels during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tell the clinic and discuss suitable alternatives.
